Abstract

In this study, we have researched the extent of the presence of emotions in the text of Calderón’s autos sacramentales with the help of a massive yet detailed study of the sentiments expressed by the characters that Calderón created. We have also delved into the distribution of these emotions by studying the occurrence of positive and negative sentiments among different typologies of characters, in order to offer a more nuanced view of the psychology of these characters, even those that are of an allegorical nature.
